Easy and even entertaining (if such a description is possible when talking about pivot tables) way to learn ins and outs of Excel pivot tables. The book explains pitfalls, quirks and tricks of the subject, and contains a lot of useful information.

I have mixed emotions about how to rate this book. Its content is excellent and I couldn’t bring myself to give it three stars, because that might cause someone to pass it over who otherwise might benefit from the book. I do wish, however, the publisher would properly label the files associated with this excellent book. I became frustrated after having to wade through multiple files for Chapter 3, and actually put the book down for a while. It is tough enough learning a new subject without having to determine which files goes with a particular lesson.

I use pivot tables all of the time so I bought this book to see if there are things I can learn. I did and have learned a lot and it is a great reference. The first two chapters cover the basics but it advances very quickly after that. Writing is very bullet-ed and you can easily look up what you are looking for. A must have for all beginner, intermediate, and even advanced Pivot Table users!

Note of caution is that if you do not have Excel 2007 this book is not that useful as a lot of the features for Pivot Tables have changed from the 2003 to the 2007 version.
